The Electoral Commission (Appointment of Date of Completion of Update of Voters' Register in the Specified New Electoral Areas)

Instrument, 2012.

Under Section 19(8)(a) of the Electoral Commission Act Cap. 140.

In exercise of the powers conferred upon the Commission under Section 19(8) (a) of the Electoral Commission Act, Cap. 140, this Instrument is made this 31st day of May, 2012.

  1. Title.

This Instrument may be cited as the Electoral Commission (Appointment of Date of Completion of Update of Voters' Register in the Specified New Electoral Areas) Instrument, 2012.

  1. Appointment of date of completion of update.

The 14th June, 2012 is hereby appointed as the date upon which the Commission shall complete the exercise of updating the Voters' Register for purposes of the election in the following specified new electoral areas—

  1. Migyera Town Council, Budyebo County, Nakasongola

District;

  1. Kakooge Sub-county, Nakasongola County, Nakasongola District;
  2. Okwang Sub-county, Otuke County, Otuke District;
  3. Rubaare Town Council, Rushenyi County, Ntungamo District;
  4. Kalongor Parish, Kaabong East Sub-county, Dodoth East

County, Kaabong District;

  1. Lomerima Parish, Loyoro Sub-county, Dodoth East County,

Kaabong District;

  1. Kakamar Parish, Sidok(Kopoth) Sub-county, Dodoth East

County, Kaabong District;

  1. Lopedo/Teuso Parish, Lodiko Sub-county, Dodoth East County,

Kaabong District; and

  1. Kotome Parish, Lodiko Sub-county, Dodoth East County,

Kaabong District;

  1. No application accepted after appointed date.

For purpose of paragraph 2 of this Instrument, after the appointed date no application form from the specified new electoral areas shall be accepted by the Electoral Commission seeking—

  1. to register as a voter; or
  2. to transfer to a new voting location.
